Marloes presented her research on questions in NGT during the opening of the academic year 2024-2025 of UvA's Faculty of Humanities.

Thesis Galya Stern

Galya explains her thesis research. She examined question sentences containing the word "who", and investigated how these sentences differ from each other and how people understand questions.

Layman talk PhD defense Ulrika

This video shows the layman talk that Ulrika held at the start of her PhD defense in 2021. She tells more about her dissertation and offers a brief descriptive analysis of two sentences in NGT, so the audience can get a gist of writing a descriptive grammar. Exploring automatic text-to-sign translation in a healthcare setting

In this project we explored the application of a signing avatar for healthcare purposes, during the COVID-19 pandemic. This video summarizes the entire project: its motivation, implementation, and evaluation, and the results.

Marloes and Roland investigated negation in NGT. They looked into the Corpus NGT to find negated sentences, and anlayzed them. In this video, Marloes explains their results.
